Q: Did you always want to be an artist?
A: Yes!  I always loved art, all kinds of art.  I wanted to be a painter and a sculptor, but most of all I wanted to work at Disney World.

Q: Did you go to school to be a writer?
A: No.  I have a degree in Graphic Communications, which means that I learned how to communicate with pictures.  After graduating, I worked as a designer in New York City creating logos and other materials for huge corporations all over the world (but it was kind of boring), so I became the Creative Director of an advertising agency.  Then I decided to do something different....

Q: What was your favorite book growing up?
A: That's a tough question.  I had many favorites, including all the Raggedy Ann books by Johnny Gruelle, every book Joan Walsh Anglund ever wrote, and an enchanting book called Susan and Spotty which I found absolutely mesmerizing.

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: I grew up in Harwinton, Connecticut where there were lots of trees to climb, stone walls to walk on, and lots of frogs and fireflies to catch. We had a huge hill

for sliding in the winter, and a shady brook to wade through during the summer.

It was heaven!

Q: What is your favorite color?
A: Definitely white!

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: M&M’s, mango’s, and sushi.  But not all together - yuck!
